This module is practical in nature and aims to put students in a situation of use to familiarize themselves with the translation task and tackle translation problems on the spot. However, since the course is addressed to second year bachelor students, it is subsequently graded and organized around some theoretical and procedural steps to help students see the multifarious nature of the skill they are acquiring and develop their linguistic competence at a normal pace. Thus, the translation exercises are often preceded by a discussion of dominant linguistic features and their use in different types of texts, then some samples of texts are used to illustrate the spotted feature in context. The course also unfolds on the discussions of predominant translations problems in different textual genres and for this it may repose on suggestions for further readings when necessary.
