A. The President of the Republic: the Head of state, shall be elected by universal, direct, and secret suffrage. He must embody the unity of the Nation and ensure the unity of the national territory. He is responsible for protecting and guaranteeing the Constitution’s respect, and representing the State in both the country and abroad.

أ- رئيس الجمهورية: هو رئيس الدّولة، يُنتخَب عن طريق الاقتراع العام المباشر والسري، يجسد وحدة الأمّة، ويسهر في كل الظروف على وحدة التراب الوطني، يحمي رئيس الجمهورية الدّستور ويسهر على احترامه. كما يجسّد الدّولةَ داخل البلاد وخارجها.

B. The legislative power shall be exercised by a bicameral Parliament, consisting of two chambers: the People's National Assembly and the Council of the Nation. Parliament shall draft and vote on laws in a sovereign manner and shall monitor the action of the government within the conditions defined by the constitution.

ب- السلطة التشريعية: يمارسها برلمان يتكوّن من غرفتين، وهما المجلس الشّعبي الوطني ومجلس الأمّة. كل غرفة من غرفتي البرلمان لها السيادة في إعداد القانون والتّصويت عليه، كما يراقب البرلمان عمل الحكومة وفقا للشروط المحدّدة في الدستور.
