English for Specific Purposes (ESP) module is concerned with teaching English as a foreign language to university students using particular required vocabulary.

The module puts focus on the teaching of the English language in relation to the scientific branches, in this case the field of nutrition, food, and agro-food technology.

Scientific English is particularly interested in the teaching of terminology, scientific productions, like scientific texts, articles, abstracts, oral presentations, etc..

Scientific English is directed to third year students, option food sciences. it introduces the students to scientific research.

The students, in this course, are expected to be able to acquire terminology related to the field; analyze short and long material (paragraph, text, article and dissertation); synthesize main ideas to make a long production (sentence, paragraph, text); present orally the written productions; evaluate each others written and oral productions; ask and answer questions in a scientific communication and to discuss a subject with a support of research ‘e.g. powerpoint or poster »; and write sentences and paragraphs according to scientific standards
