Start-ups and established organizations would hire biotechnology consultants primarily to receive independent and professional advice from key opinion leaders, individuals with in-depth knowledge and experience in a specific area of biotechnology, bioinformatics or biological sciences, and often to outsource the implementation of their projects to well-qualified individuals. This course is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the principles and practices of consulting in the field of biotechnology. Students will learn how to identify, understand, and assess the project creators' needs. The course will also cover project quality management principles, as well as standards and fundamental beliefs considered fair and likely to serve as a basis for quality management, such as ISO 9000 standards.
