The course of Discourse Analysis is a course that deals with the different issues in language study or in the analysis of the discourse. It handles different topics that are heavily interconnected together; it is linked to grammar, lexsis, semantics, pragmatics, and many other fields and subfields of the language. In this course, learners will be given chances to see how meaning, context, and the participants in a certain conversation all play a signigficant role in shaping meaning and in giving different hints for what have been said or what have been written.
this course works to widen the students' perspective about language in general and its uses in particular; language is not limited to the academic genre, not to the oral version; yet, it is all what can be called and classified as discourse and it can be both oral or written, and sometimes it is even guesture language.
