The course Waves and Vibrations introduces the fundamental principles governing oscillatory and wave phenomena in physical systems. These concepts are essential in many areas of engineering and physics, including mechanics, electronics, signal processing, and materials science.
This course provides students with the theoretical and practical tools needed to analyze mechanical vibrations, wave propagation, and dynamic systems. It covers topics such as harmonic motion, energy methods, damping, forced oscillations, and wave behavior in different media.
Learning Objectives:
The overall competency targeted by this course is: To be able to analyze, model, and interpret vibrational and wave phenomena in physical systems, and to apply these concepts to real-world engineering and scientific problems.
This is a complex competency that you will progressively develop by acquiring knowledge, practicing skills, and adopting a professional scientific mindset.
